You can email me work or questions at any time: Mr. Windsor bear in mind that this is a school email and contents may be read by anyone monitoring the system!
Mrs. Cheetham will be rounding you all up and checking on your work. She is very experienced at sorting out BTEC work so be nice and do what she says! I've given her a list of missing work. It could be that you just haven't handed it in to me, in which case, fine, give it to her and email me a copy.
All this work must be completed by Friday, 25th January. No excuses. I then need to mark it, get it moderated, get you to write your comments and then send the work off.
Here's a quick summary of work you need to do:
Unit 19
- Discuss the different ways, both historically and in contemporary society, in which religion uses music. Refer to examples of pieces and types of music to support your discussion
- Comment critically on how music is used in film, using examples to illustrate your points
- Compare and contrast the use of music in identity and youth culture with the way music is used in celebrity culture
- Describe 4 technological advances and say how they have affected music
- Read 2 government documents on music, sum up their findings and proposals and comment critically on the stances taken
- Discuss the work of 2 musicians who have expressed political views in their music. Should music get involved in politics?
- Should opera be subsidised? Examine the work of a range of opera companies before deciding whether it is a valid art form worthy of public support
- Discuss the changing nature of the music industry from the invention of the CD to the present day. What solutions have companies found to threats posed by changing technology?
- Complete your practice diary. This may be word-processed, handwritten, recorded, blogged or a mixture of any media you like
- Complete your evaluation of your performance role in last year's concert and any other performances you have taken part in
